COSTA BRAVA – DALÍ CYCLING TOUR

Ride in Costa Brava and enter “The Dalí Triangle” with us, the three most mythical places where Salvador Dali spent his life.

The Costa Brava – Dalí Cycling Tour starts from beautiful Castelló d’Empúries, capital of the Empúries county during the Middle Ages. We have four days to discover the northern part of the province of Girona. We will ride to the easternmost point of the Iberian Peninsula, Cap de Creus. Visit the picturesque village of Cadaqués, where Dalí spent his childhood summers and Portlligat, where he lived as an adult and painted some of his most famous landscapes. Amazing rides with spectacular views of the Mediterranean Sea and the border with France.

We will trace the history of this region: from the first civilization to live here, the Iberians, to the Greeks and Romans who arrived in Spain and founded the town of Emporion in the 6th century BC. We will also visit one of the wineries of D.O. Empordà and the Dalí Museum in Figueres.

Halfway through the tour, we will head to the city of Girona. Feel at home at the Hotel Historic or Hotel Nord 1901 and experience rides the pros train on. Mare de Déu del Mont and Rocacorba are the nearby climbs they test before going to Le Tour de France.

Then on to Gala’s castle home in the countryside village of Púbol. This 11th-century castle was bought by Dalí in 1969 for his wife Gala, for whom he had an undying love. He decorated the house for her in his own bizarre fashion and apparently was only able to visit with written permission.

The Costa Brava – Dalí Cycling Tour is a custom tour, minimum 4-day tour where we will visit the Dalí Triangle. The rides will take us to Púbol, Figueres, Cadaqués and Portlligat. We will have lunch along the way and enjoy the emblematic places of Dalí´s life.

Other activities that can be included in your tour:

Perelada Vineyard Tour: We will visit and taste Dalí’s favorite wine in the lovely village of Perelada, outside of Figueres.

Els Angels Sanctuary: Where Dalí and Gala got married, outside the town of Girona.

Add an oficial Dalí tour guide on your visits to the Museums in Figueres and Púbol. In Portlligat, a guided visit is included.
