MALLORCA CYCLING TOUR
As many of you already know, Mallorca has become the island for cycling. The quiet, undulating roads are idyllic as they cut through olive groves, forests, and along the coast. Cyclists can enjoy an easy spin on the flatter roads by the water or a hard thrash over the mountains. The island has become a destination for cycle tourists and professional teams. Not only are the roads ideal for cycling, but the fertile land also provides fresh fruits, vegetables, and meats to fuel our rides.
Generations of professional cyclists have built the foundation of their racing season at team training camps on the island. Brad Wiggins and Jan Ullrich trained on these roads on their way to winning the Tour de France, while Mark Cavendish and Erik Zabel prepared here for their victories in one of cycling’s monuments, Milan-San Remo.
Over the week, we will ride through the countryside, stopping in centuries-old towns for coffee or lunch, then power our way over the climbs and whirl down the descents. Each day our Mallorca Cycling Tour will bring new adventures where we will challenge ourselves, bond as a group, and discover the island.
The Tour
With the Tramuntana Mountains as our main stage, we’ve designed the Mallorca Cycling Tour to take you on all the island’s iconic rides, while also offering a glimpse into Mallorca’s charming countryside and dramatic coastal scenery.
We start in the north, near Sa Pobla, Mallorca’s main agricultural area, with endless potato and artichoke fields. The setting is dotted with centuries-old windmills and lies just a short ride (about half an hour) from the northern coast near Pollença.
From here, we will enjoy three rides showcasing the diversity of Mallorca’s landscape and terrain: through the rolling heart of the island up to Cura Monastery, to the sheer cliffs of the island’s northernmost point, the iconic Cap Formentor Lighthouse, and across the Binissalem wine country and the foothills of the Serra de Tramuntana.
An epic ride deep into the mountains will take us to the world-famous Sa Calobra. At this point, we’ll continue past the island’s two main water reservoirs, Cuber and Gorg Blau, before we take the brilliant descent into Port de Sóller and the jaw-dropping Jumeirah Hotel, our base for the next three days.
From Port de Sóller, the terrain only gets hillier, with a scenic ride through the picture-perfect villages of Deià, Valldemossa, and the Orient Valley, saving the best for last: a stunning, rollercoaster-like ride along the island’s southwestern coast.
